Why do I pause? Where do my silences come from? I realized that modern communication is missing that pole that counterbalances the spoken word. I don’t want to get those big systems involved, but there are two poles in electricity: a positive and a negative pole. In modern communication what’s missing is the negative pole, which is made up of silences and pauses, and that are indispensable for thinking. Today, who’s talks the most? Television, because it has to follow the rules of the market and bombard us with information so that we can’t stop and think.
